It is with great humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I extend my first message to you as the President of IMA Gujarat State Branch. I am truly honored by the trust and confidence you have placed in me.

IMA has always stood as the strongest voice of the medical fraternity, committed to ethical practice, professional excellence, and service to society. As we navigate an era of rapid medical advances, changing healthcare policies, and increasing challenges to our profession, unity and collective wisdom have never been more important.

The year holds special significance for all of us as we celebrate the historic 100th IMA NATCON Conference, a landmark event in the journey of the Indian Medical Association. This centenary conference stands as a testimony to a century of IMA’s unwavering commitment to ethical medical practice, academic excellence, and service to the nation. The meticulous planning, remarkable academic content, and grand execution reflect the collective hard work of the IMA leadership and organizing teams across the country.

I am deeply thankful to the visionary leader Dr. Ketan Desai Sir for his constant inspiration, dynamic leadership and unwavering guidance. His foresight, wisdom, and lifelong commitment to the medical fraternity continue to motivate and inspire generations of doctors, including myself. I also express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Jitendra Patel, Dr. Kirtibhai Patel, Dr. Parimal Desai, Dr. Mahendrabhai Desai, Dr. Anil Nayak, Dr. Mahesh Patel, Dr. Dhaneshbhai Patel, Dr. Bipin Patel, Dr. Tushar Patel, and many others who supported me throughout my journey in IMA and to the presidency.

I would like to place on record my sincere appreciation for the tireless efforts and visionary leadership of our National President, Dr. Anil Nayak. His relentless hard work, dedication, and ability to unite the fraternity have been instrumental in making the 100th NATCON a memorable and meaningful success. Under his leadership, IMA has continued to strengthen its national presence while safeguarding the interests and dignity of the medical profession.

I also heartily congratulate Dr. Mehul Shah and Dr. Gargi Patel for their dedicated and impactful work as President and Hon. Secretary of IMA Gujarat. Many remarkable achievements were accomplished under their able leadership. As they passes the baton, I will strive to carry their legacy forward. My sincere thanks and congratulations to Dr. Mehul Shah and his entire IMA Gujarat team.

During my tenure, my focus will be on strengthening IMA Gujarat at the grassroots level, enhancing academic activities, promoting ethical and safe medical practice, and ensuring the well-being and security of doctors. I strongly believe that continuous medical education, leadership development, and effective communication among members will empower us to serve our patients better.

I also look forward to working closely with all local branches, senior mentors, and young doctors to foster a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and mutual respect. Together, we must uphold the dignity of our profession while adapting to the evolving healthcare landscape.

I sincerely seek your guidance, cooperation, and active participation in all IMA initiatives. Let us move forward with renewed energy, unity, and a shared commitment to excellence in healthcare.

With warm regards,

Dr. Anil D. Patel
President, G.S.B., I.M.A.

As the Centenary NATCON approaches, there’s a lively energy across Gujarat. You can feel it in the way our teams meet late into the evening, in the quick updates shared between hospitals, and in the excitement of every member who wants this event to shine. Step by step, what once felt like a distant plan is now shaping into a meaningful and memorable celebration.

This year’s NATCON has been designed with care. The scientific sessions offer practical learning for doctors across specialties, along with thoughtful topics dedicated to women. Our MSN and JDN members will experience creative, energetic sessions that match their enthusiasm and curiosity. We are also proud to welcome international experts, whose global perspectives will add depth and inspiration to our discussions.

This gathering is useful for everyone—whether a irst-year medical student or a senior stalwart. Students will find ideas and direction for the careers they are building, young doctors will gain skills and confidence, mid-career clinicians will discover updates that refine practice, and senior experts will find a space to share their wisdom and stay connected to a changing medical world. In one place, across three days, every level of our profession grows together.

The unity of Gujarat has been the heart of this journey. Doctors from every district have come together like one family, determined to present the strength and warmth of our state. This year also brings two proud moments, the installation of Dr. Anilkumar Nayakas National President and Dr. Anil Patel as President of IMA Gujarat.

Behind the scenes, our teams are working tirelessly— checking arrangements, coordinating logistics, and ensuring comfort for every guest. Their dedication is already showing results. For the first time, an exceptionally large number of doctors from across India are coming to Ahmedabad to learn, share, and collaborate.

This year, the journey of NATCON stretches far beyond India. Doctors from the USA and several other countries are packing their bags to join us in Ahmedabad. Many of them irst heard about the 100th celebration through colleagues, research groups, or academic networks—and their curiosity quickly turned into excitement. They are coming not just to attend sessions, but to share their knowledge, explore research ideas, and build collaborations that can grow into joint publications and longterm academic partnerships. Some are even visiting Gujarat’s leading hospitals and institutes to explore training programs, exchange opportunities, and possibilities in medical tourism. Their presence adds a global flavor to our celebration, turning this NATCON into a meeting place where local expertise and international experience come together to shape the future of healthcare.

This year, Gujarat will welcome several internationally respected medical stalwarts who are travelling specially to be I.M.A.G.S.B. NEWS BULLETIN NOVEMBER-2025 / MONTHLY NEWS President, G.S.B., I.M.A. Dr. Gargi M. Patel part of the centenary celebration. Their presence will bring global wisdom to our scientific discussions and inspire doctors at every stage of their careers. For many, it will be their irst time experiencing the spirit, hospitality, and medical strength of Gujarat—and they are eager to be part of this historic gathering.

Throughout this journey, one thing has stood out above everything else—the unwavering support of our seniors, colleagues, and the entire organizing team. Our seniors have been our compass, sharing their wisdom at the right moments and guiding us whenever the road felt uncertain. Colleagues from every branch stepped forward without hesitation, bringing ideas, solving problems, and lifting the team’s spirit whenever the workload grew heavy. And our volunteer teams—doctors, students, coordinators—have shown a level of commitment that speaks volumes about their love for the IMA family. Early mornings, late nights, endless calls, and countless meetings… they embraced it all with a smile and a sense of purpose. This 100th celebration is not just an event—it is the result of hundreds of people standing together, helping one another, and believing in what we can achieve as a united team. For this, We are deeply grateful to each and every one of them.

To all supporters, volunteers, partners, and well wishers—thank you. Your support makes this centenary celebration truly special. We look forward to welcoming you to Ahmedabad for this memorable gathering.

A hundred years ago, a handful of passionate doctors came together with a simple conference — to unite, to learn, and to serve. They could never have imagined that their vision would grow into the Indian Medical Association, a vast, vibrant community touching every corner of healthcare in India and beyond. Today, as IMA Gujarat proudly hosts 100 NATCON 2025, we are not just organizing a conference — we are opening a new chapter in this incredible story.

Imagine walking into a space buzzing with energy, where prestigious institutes host seminars and workshops, sharing insights that have shaped the future of medicine. Picture state-of the-art hospitals opening their doors, offering hands-on workshops that allow you to see healthcare excellence in action. Every session tells a story — from the humble beginnings of units to thriving hospitals, from young dreams to accomplished ventures. For small hospital owners, NATCON 2025 is a chance to gain practical wisdom — from hospital management masterclasses to marketing, planning, and leadership strategies — all designed to help clinics grow, patients thrive, and teams succeed.

For young doctors and medical students, it is a gateway to inspiration — a place to learn from stalwarts, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with mentors who can shape careers.

And beyond knowledge, NATCON is about connection. Corridors will hum with conversations, where doctors from across India — and the globe — meet, exchange ideas, and forge collaborations. International experts, national leaders, and pioneers in healthcare will gather, making this not just a conference but a melting pot of global learning and networking. Every coffee break, every hallway discussion, might spark partnerships, MoUs, or innovative projects that transform your practice and community.

Our Women Plannery Session will celebrate courage, leadership, and resilience, while the Medical Students and Junior Doctors’ Forum will bring fresh perspectives and energy. Together, they remind us that the story of medicine is ever evolving, written by those who dare to learn, innovate, and lead.

NATCON 2025 is more than a gathering — it is a living story of growth, mentorship, collaboration, and inspiration. Every seminar, every workshop, every handshake, every discussion is a chapter in this grand narrative.

So, step into this story, Join us at NATCON 2025 for this once in-a-century celebration, where doctors from across the globe will participate, knowledge will low, connections will be formed, and memories will last a lifetime. Whether you are building a small clinic, starting your journey as a young doctor, or looking to scale your practice, or planning international MOUs, NATCON 2025 is your gateway to learning, networking, and global expertise.

Every October, we pause to remember two towering figures of our nation — Mahatma Gandhiji and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Both were sons of Gujarat, yet their message belonged to the whole world. Gandhiji taught us that service is the highest form of strength, and Sardar showed us that unity can turn dreams into reality. Their birthdays remind us that our own work, too, must always be rooted in service and togetherness.

This October, we feel the same spirit alive in our fraternity. The preparations for the 100th NATCON are moving ahead with remarkable energy. Just as Gandhiji mobilized people with a quiet resolve, and Sardar brought them together with unshakable determination, we too are working with both vision and unity to create something historic.

We have had the privilege of witnessing the buzz during our pre-conference seminars — halls filled with eager learners, young doctors asking questions, seniors sharing pearls of wisdom, and the sense that we are building more than an event, we are building a legacy. Each seminar has been like a rehearsal for the grand symphony that NATCON promises to be.

What excites us most is the dual heartbeat of this event: on one hand, honoring the 100 senior doctors of Gujarat who have given a lifetime of healing and care; on the other, creating an academic playground for our medical students and junior doctors. One represents the roots, the other the new shoots. Together, they make our fraternity evergreen.

In many ways, NATCON is not just a conference but a bridge — between past and future, wisdom and curiosity, local service and global exchange. Each of us has a role to play in crossing that bridge together, carrying forward the values of those who came before us while lighting the way for those who will follow.

We are also preparing to welcome stalwarts from across India and abroad. Imagine the exchange of ideas, the stories of journeys from different corners of the world, and the friendships that will be forged here in Gujarat.

As we look ahead, we see NATCON not just as a conference, but as a living story — one where the wisdom of our seniors, the energy of our youth, and the vision of our leaders all meet on one stage.

This October, let us walk together with the spirit of Gandhiji and the strength of Sardar, and let us write a new chapter in the history of IMA Gujarat.

Every year on 5th September, we pause to celebrate “Teacher’s Day”. For us, it is not just about honoring the teachers of our classrooms but also about acknowledging the mentors we meet throughout our medical journey — professors, seniors, colleagues, and even patients who silently shape our understanding. Medicine is a profession where every day is a lesson, and every person we meet has something to teach us. This spirit of learning and gratitude forms the foundation of our work at IMA.

Carrying this motive forward, we now stand at a historic moment — the 100th NATCON. The preparations are in full momentum, and the excitement is visible across Gujarat. Like students preparing for their inal examinations, our teams are working day and night to ensure that this centenary celebration shines as one of the inest in IMA’s history. But just like in the classroom, success here too depends on teamwork. Every local branch has an important role, and we urge each one to come forward and make their contribution. When every branch adds its energy, the entire state will shine.

We have already plan the first steps on this journey. The pre-conference seminar, to be held with the collaboration of prestigious institutes, an excellent preview of what lies ahead. The discussions will be rich, the ideas innovative, and the participation heartening.

Looking ahead, we want NATCON 2025 to be more than just a conference. Our scientific sessions will highlight the latest advances in medicine, but they will also create space for medical students and young doctors. Their curiosity, their questions, and their fresh perspectives are what will carry our profession into the future. By giving them a platform, we are not only sharing knowledge but also nurturing tomorrow’s leaders.

It is a journey of discovery and inspiration. Imagine halls abuzz with the wisdom of eminent national and international faculties, where doctors will explore everything from hospital start-ups and advanced management, strategies to business-to-business collaborations and international medical tourism. It will be a place where knowledge meets innovation, experience meets curiosity, and ideas transform into action. Every session, every discussion, and every interaction will echo the spirit of progress, leaving participants energized to take their practices, institutions, and patient care to new heights. NATCON 100 is not just an event; it is a living story of medicine, vision, and the relentless pursuit of excellence –a legacy we are proud to continue and share with the world.

So as we write to you this month, We see NATCON 2025 as a story we are all co-authoring. A story where gratitude for our teachers leads us to prepare diligently, where unity across branches ensures success, where students and young doctors find their voice.

Together, let us not just organize a conference but create a legacy that future generations will look back upon with pride.

June 12, 2025—a date that will remain etched in the hearts of every citizen of Gujarat. A devastating aircraft crash in Ahmedabad shook our state, claiming over 250+ lives and injuring many more. The pain, fear, and grief that followed cannot be described in words. The tragedy brought unbearable loss—but it also lead to an unspoken bond of shared humanity.

It was around lunchtime when the skies over Ahmedabad turned dark, not because of weather, but from the smoke rising from a scene of horror. In the very next moment, the sirens began. Calls flooded emergency lines. And even before orders could be issued or plans drawn, doctors, nurses, and medical students across Gujarat began moving.

In BJ Medical College, some of our students were just settling down for lunch in the hostel mess. Within seconds, everything changed. Shattered glass, screaming echoes, and the sound of rushing footsteps replaced the quiet. Some of them never made it out. The doctors from IMA cancelled outpatient clinics and elective surgeries and arrived at civil Hospital to offer hands-on help. Administrative staff ensured that every department worked like a well-oiled machine. There were no walls between government and our doctors team, no lines drawn between designations—only shared humanity.

IMA Gujarat and Government Stakeholders worked Shoulder to Shoulder. IMA Gujarat stood firmly, offering every support they could. We worked in close coordination and under their guidance of Honorable Chief Minister, Health Minister, Home Minister, many government stakeholders , senior IAS officers, hospital team. Whether it was rapid mobilization of ambulance, or support for families— decisions were made, and help was given.

We mourn not just those on the ill-fated light, but also those in the BJ Medical College hostel, in the nearby areas, the pedestrians, and workers caught in the blast and debris. Their names and stories will not fade. They are not just numbers in a report—they were sons, daughters, students, workers, friends.

In those critical hours after the crash, something extraordinary unfolded. People from every walk of life—doctors, nurses, medical students, ambulance drivers, security staff, helping staff, administrators, our IMA doctors and government officials, NGOs, various organization, every person—rose together, without waiting for instructions, without thinking of roles or ranks. They moved as one, driven by nothing but the instinct to help. Some ran from hospital wards, others left their meals uneaten, and many stayed awake for hours, working in silence, comforting the grieving, treating wore what badge or came from which background—what mattered was humanity.

The lines between profession and purpose blurred in that brief but powerful moment, when the entire system pulsed with one goal: to save and support. This was more than a medical response—it was a collective efforts. As we mourn the lives lost and pray for the injured to recover, we also recognize the deep scars this tragedy will leave behind. It is a serious, lifealtering moment for everyone involved. But IMA Gujarat stands firm—we will walk with every affected family, support every survivor, and do whatever we can, for as long as we’re needed.

IMA Gujarat, standing at the forefront of medical service and advocacy, humbly reached out to the Tata Sons Group requesting their support for the doctors and medical students who lost their lives or were injured in this heartbreaking incident. In a heartfelt gesture, the Tata Group extended their help, offering assistance during this critical time. IMA Gujarat is deeply thankful for their solidarity and compassion, and for standing by the medical community in this moment of profound loss. Let us not forget. Let us continue to stand united—in grief, in healing, and in rebuilding lives.

Greetings from IMA Gujarat!

At this important moment in our journey, let us irst take a pause to express our heartfelt solidarity with our nation. As doctors, we are not just caregivers—we are pillars of strength in times of crisis. In every moment of need, we have stood by our nation, and we will continue to do so with pride & dedication.

In a recent moment our nation has faced, doctors from Gujarat have consistently stepped forward with unwavering dedication. Whether it was offering their medical expertise to handle emergencies or organizing life-saving blood donation camps at short notice, the spirit of volunteerism among IMA Gujarat doctors has been truly inspiring. Their readiness to serve the nation —often beyond duty—has relected not just professional excellence but a deep-rooted commitment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our IMA Gujarat members for standing strong with the nation when it needed the most.

This year is especially meaningful for us all. The 100th National Conference (NATCON) of the Indian Medical Association will be hosted in our very own Gujarat-Ahmedabad—a matter of immense pride for every branch and every doctor across the state. This is not just an event. This is our celebration our responsibility, and our chance to lead with purpose.

IMA Gujarat’s each branch is a vital part of its heartbeat. The strength of NATCON will come from your participation, your energy, and your presence. We warmly invite every branch—big or small—to come forward with full involvement. When Gujarat stands united, the whole environment will feel it.

We sincerely urge our branches to help more private hospitals enroll in the Hospital Protection Scheme (HPS). This is not just a shield; it is a safety net that protects the hard work, trust, and service you offer every day. Let us ensure that more of our institutions are covered—not just for legal protection, but for peace of mind.

As we grow, so should our understanding of the recent medicolegal updates. We request every branch to organize Professional Protection, Hospital Board of India and C.G.P. seminars. These will help our doctors stay informed and conident in medico-legal matters, hospital administration, and leadership. Together, we can build a stronger, more secure professional environment for ourselves and the generations that follow.

Let us make this centenary NATCON not just a milestone—but a movement. Let Gujarat shine not only as the host, but as the heart of this event. Let us walk together with pride, purpose, and unity.

Greetings from IMA Gujarat!

It fills our heart with pride and joy to reflect on the vibrant spirit and unity that defines our IMA Gujarat community.

We prepare for something historic. Gujarat has been chosen to host the 100th National Conference of IMANATCON 2025. This is not just an event-it’s a celebration of our collective journey, and a chance for us to represent Gujarat on
the national stage. With over 5000+ delegates expected, it’s a moment of pride and responsibility. We warmly invite each member of our IMA family to connect with our team and be a part of this once-in-a-century occasion.

Adding to this wave of engagement, the DOC Studio musical extravaganza was truly unforgettable. Our very own
IMA doctors came together to present spellbinding instrumental performances to a packed audience. The atmosphere was electric, and it reminded us all of the beautiful bonds we share beyond our professional lives.

Recently, the IMA Medical Students Network of Gujarat, under the leadership of Dr. Mona Desai Ma’am, hosted a
wonderful Skit Competition. Students from nearly every medical college in Gujarat came forward, registered their
teams, and showcased their creativity with great enthusiasm. Their energy reflects the strong foundation and bright future of our fraternity.

We also saw incredible participation in Doc Lens, our photography showcase. Through their lenses, our doctors
captured stories, emotions, and moments that resonated deeply with everyone—once again proving that medicine and art can beautifully coexist.

Looking ahead, if you have any ideas or suggestions for events or initiatives that can bring our medical community
even closer, do share them with us. Whether it’s cultural, academic, medical, professional, or something entirely
new—we welcome your thoughts. Let’s keep building this journey together, hand in hand.

Let’s continue walking together, celebrating together, and growing together—as one IMA Gujarat.

Greetings from IMA Gujarat!

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) approaches, the entire nation gears up to witness the rise of our young Indian cricketers stepping onto the big stage. But their journey to success is not just about talent. These players undergo rigorous training—not just in cricketing skills but also in fitness, strategy, mental resilience, and discipline. It is the right guidance, mentorship, and support system that turns them into champions.

Now, think of a young medico stepping into the world of medicine, filled with dreams and aspirations, just like a cricketer
walking into a packed stadium for the first time. The journey ahead is filled with challenges—long study hours, intense clinical training, demanding responsibilities, and critical decision-making. But success in medicine, much like in cricket, does not come from academic knowledge alone. To truly thrive, a doctor must develop clinical expertise, professional ethics, leadership skills, and legal awareness.

This is where IMA becomes your family Just as a cricketer relies on their coach, senior players, and teammates, a young medico needs mentors, peers, and a support system that understands their struggles and aspirations. IMA is that home—a place where students, residents, and young professionals come together, learn from each other, and grow under the guidance of experienced doctors.

With the ongoing IMA membership drive, we are welcoming more young doctors into our ever-growing family. To each of you who has joined—you are not alone in this journey. Whether you are a student learning the ropes of medicine, a resident handling the pressures of patient care, or a young doctor stepping into the professional world, IMA is here for you. This is your community—a place where you will find guidance, strength, and a lifelong network of support.

Beyond mentorship, IMA stands by you in every aspect of your professional journey through platforms like IMA PPS (Professional Protection Scheme), Health Scheme, HBI (Hospital Board of India), SSS (Social Security Scheme), FWS (Family Welfare Scheme) and many more, we ensure that you are protected, supported, and empowered whether it’s legal assistance, financial security, career guidance, or help in setting up your practice, IMA is your constant companion, standing beside you through every challenge and milestone.

Just as the IPL turns young players into legends, IMA is here to shape the future of healthcare by supporting its young doctors Together, as one strong medical fraternity, we will build a future where every doctor feels valued, supported, and prepared for success. Welcome to your IMA Gujarat, your family
