On 21-01-23, in a large meeting at IMA HQ New Delhi, attended by every state branch presidents and secretaries, we presented our works and new projects; which were specially praised and accorded by national IMA.
On 24-01-23, in an online meeting of IMA GSB office bearers and State Working committee, problems were discussed and suggestions to solve them were taken. Dr. Anil Nayak gave a really inspiring speech. Most importantly, suicide prevention and task force and helpline is started.
Need of the time:
• Continuous improvement and maintenance of quality and standard of medical services.
Preventing/minimising conflicts and medico-legal cases.
• Re-establishing the trust of patients and making medical practice safe and happy.
How to achieve above goals:
• Improving medical education and training.
Establishing the practice of EBM (Evidence Based Medicine).
• Improving the COMMUNICATION between the doctor and patient.
To look after the standard of medical education and training, we already have NMC which is working hard and already showing some good signs.
Practice of EBM also can be better implemented by NMC although IMA also can play major role by:
• Helping to create committees of each speciality and national and state level. Such committees can prepare clinical guidelines and protocols for the management of all the conditions. (The same way Royal colleges in Europe and Australia are working)
